At Northwest Passage High School, incoming 9th graders enter the Headwaters program, which addresses academic, developmental, and transitional needs of incoming freshman through an intentional focus on scaffolding academics and building relationships in a personalized way. In addition to project-based learning and out-of-school field studies and expeditions, students in the Headwaters program are given support that aims to improve graduation rates, social and emotional skills, and post-secondary goals.
