At Duluth Edison’s Raleigh Academy, 4^th and 5^th grade students in the Reading Activators program provide reading coaching and support to struggling kindergarten and first grade peers in reading. They are taught about the characteristics and learning styles of their younger peers, how to use research-based literacy and phonics skill development and are paired with a kindergarten or first grade student to provide daily individualized reading support.
