Job Description

The Assistant Education Programming Director provides the learning and related administrative leadership for HSRA and oversees the education programming department. The Assistant Education Programming Director is responsible for strategizing, leading, guiding, and directing the learning and related administrative school teams in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence in innovative/alternative educational programs and operating systems; providing learning leadership by administering, supervising and leading the development of project based learning, instructional, curriculum development and school programs that meet or exceed state standards and 21st century core competencies; providing for a system of supervision and evaluation for all certified learning staff and their learning support personnel within the education department designed to meet the goals of HSRA. Maintaining educational compliance with regulatory and funding agencies at the local, state and federal levels.

Qualifications

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish a learning culture to constantly assess and improve student learning and achievement results as delineated within our authorizer agreement
Design the learning/education programming through a multiple strategy approach using various innovative learning practices such as project based learning, classes, workshops/boot camps, experiential learning, digital/virtual learning, etc.
Monitor progress of all students learning progression
Lead and mentor all licensed teaching staff at HSRA.
Support and mentor all facilitators of learning in developing a learning culture aligned with the mission and values of HSRA.
Participate in the hiring process and personnel decisions of the department.
Coordinate staff development and staff committee work.
Establish, evaluate and develop a team of facilitators of learning.
Foster a culture of learning professionalism among all facilitators of learning.
Work with facilitators of learning to improve their teaching/advising practice through coaching, professional development, modeling, and collaborative planning.
Work with studio directors and studio staff to develop interdisciplinary learning activities and to ensure proper project and instructional supervision and practices within the studio program.
Work with all directors to ensure the best in coordination and execution of the mission, vision and goals for HSRA.
Ensure that project based, classroom instruction, independent and alternative learning environments (such as online learning) maximizes student learning and post secondary educational and/or career preparedness.
Provide high quality project and curricular training and resources to staff.
Assist advisors in making decisions about students’ personal learning plans as it relates to learning goals.
Assess students’ progress toward graduation and verify status of graduates.
Work with advisors to ensure that students’ educational/learning needs are being met.
Communicate regularly with other department directors to make necessary changes and assess program progress.
Communicate on a regular basis with the assistant director of student engagement and assist student engagement advisors in their academic support of students.
Foster a school climate that supports both student and staff success and promotes respect and appreciation for all students, staff and parents.
Ensure that licensed facilitators are a part of the students PLP team.

Confer and coordinate with Director of Education and Institutional Effectiveness in developing, implementing, leading and managing all project and instructional strategies based on student data and data analysis

Keep abreast of successful project and instructional methodologies and practices.
Ensure use of effective, research-based project facilitation and teaching methodologies and practices.
Create course catalogs and daily schedules.
Ensure consistencies in project facilitation, instruction and practice amongst the team of facilitators.
Manage HSRA competency-based graduation plan and train other staff in competencies and validations
Oversee student-selected reading program /DLA and Concentrated Math in coordination with the Director of Education Institutional Effectiveness.
Assist students and staff in creating portfolios.
Assess the extent of credit allocation for various student learning engagements.
Guide school goals in areas of academic improvement and participate in the School Improvement Committee.
Coach advisors in assessment, project-based learning, and the validations program.
Communicate regularly with the Director of Education Institutional Effectiveness, lead facilitator, assistant director of student engagement and executive director to make necessary changes and assess program progress.
Communicate on a regular basis and assist Student Engagement and Student Support in organizing academic interventions. Foster a school climate that supports both student and staff success and promotes respect and appreciation for all students, staff and parents.
Participate in the hiring process and personnel decisions.
Coordinate staff development and staff committee work with DEIE
Manage, evaluate and develop a team of facilitators of learning.
Foster a culture of professionalism among facilitators.
Coordinate various state and federal initiatives such as Title I, Title II, and ESSEA
Coordinate all learning programs including those that take place outside of the regular school day and outside of the regular school year.
Create job descriptions and evaluation tool, professional development plan
Meet with DEIE regularly to review learning goals and data for areas of improvement, opportunity and/or training needs.
